Is the VK movement a real movement or cheap quartz?

The Seiko VK is a Japanese meca-quartz chronograph movement. It runs on a battery but the chronograph hands are driven mechanically — giving you the sweep and snap-back of a much more expensive movement with quartz accuracy.
